Alex Wilson Trio with guests play the London Latin Jazz Fest on the 24th Sept 21

Buy tickets now for the 24th Sep 2021 shows: 7pm and 10pm

Having journeyed from Latin Rock with Rodrigo y Gabriela, roots reggae with Ernest Ranglin, jazz with Courtney Pine and the creator of numerous worldwide salsa hits, Alex Wilson distils his music into a slamming Latin Jazz trio with Venezuelan percussionist Edwin Sanz (from the Steve Winwood band) and Greek virtuoso Dimitris Christopoulos on bass. Added to the mix is the young up-and-coming Nicaraguan guitar genius Omar Ríos Meléndez and the mesmerising vocalist Unnati Dasgupta.  This is a night not to be missed!

On the 19th April 20 we were to play a latin jazz brunch to close the Zermatt Unplugged Festival. It was cancelled, however I was able to bring the musicians together online (from Havana, Zürich, London, Geneva and Vevey) for a very special half hour of music - enjoy!!

4 days ago, my friends Rodrigo y Gabriela challenged me and others to play/produce our own versions of the song "Don't Start Now" by Dua Lipa. This is my version - Dimitris & Rodrigo - thanks for the fast turnaround, great playing as usual! Rod... Gab ... hope you're satisfied, you always did make me work hard

I was about to go to bed on Thursday night and a bass/drum groove, by Yolanda Charles and Westley Joseph, jumped out of my phone, inviting me to collaborate! I grabbed an espresso and within an hour had recorded a montuno and reposted. And it spiralled from there. Less then a week later and after a lot of recording and video editing work with contributions from Rodrigo Rodriguez 'Rodry-Go' Nolita Golding Westley Joseph and Phillip Harper a new mini song was born "Mother Nature

An honour and pleasure to have played piano and organ on the forthcoming album by lovers rock reggae legend Carroll Thomspon.  Here is the first track as a preview!

We recorded the lead trumpet as the last job of an intense week in EGREM studios, Havana. I wanted to draw out a very raw power that I knew Lazaro Amouri Oviedo Dilout had inside him. Lazaro is an awesome musician - Zucchero flies him out of Havana to perform worldwide. When composing and producing this piece, my intention was to evoke the spirit of the Tropicana cabaret.

Warm memories of performing at the Steinway Two Piano Festival with Nicky Brown and Will Fry .. this was just the intro .... we went on to many groove and sound explorations ... more videos to follow!

The 80’s hit "There Must Be An Angel" (penned by Annie Lennox & David A. Stewart) has been deliciously arranged by Alex Wilson into a Soulful Latin version full of Caribbean flavour and laced with Gospel for artist NOLITA GOLDING

Courtney Pine endorses new "Alex Wilson Trio" album

"Alex Wilson has produced a piano trio with a difference. The sound is unlike any that I have heard before connecting strands of music that go way back to Africa right up to modern day popular western music with an abundance of jazz in between. This innovatory sound makes this a must have item for 2013. A piano trio album that is unique, brilliant and embraces all the good things about jazz. If you love ( jazz ) music you must have this record in your collection. Real talk" - Courtney Pine  order now

Sneak preview of the new album "Alex Wilson Trio"

A Personal Testimonial from a fan

There was a corridor in the building where my office was, that always made me feel like dancing in it. When I was fired, I decided to give myself a gift and I finally danced there - and even had it video-taped. For me, this represents not only the parting from my previous position and office, but also my embarking on a new road.
