Salsa con Soul
LISTEN
The latest chapter in my salsa journey across
the world, this CD brings collaborations with gospel producers and soul
writers to produce a steamy combination. Add into the mix a
healthy dashing of salsa dura tracks all combined to make up an album
that just bursts through with the energy of all my musicians combined
....

Hard-hitting salsa grooves, soul vocals and
steamy salsa arrangements can only describe this latest album of
mine. The CD also pushes the salsa boundaries with a
Bhangra-Salsa track ‘Oh Kuri’ recorded in Southall and featuring young
singer Shahid Abbas Khan. Regular salsa dancers will recognize
the hits ‘Show Me’ and ‘Ain’t Nobody’ and young rapper MC Magico
features on a reggaeton-salsa ‘Subelo’.

Music Workshop
& Dance Timing CD

LISTEN
This CD is designed as an introduction to the salsa orchestra for the
dancer. In the first six tracks, Alex gives a unique insight in to the
various components of the salsa orchestra and explains the roles of the
different sections. This is followed by 5 tracks from the Inglaterra
album with a timing count voice over. This album is a must for anyone
who wants to get closer and deeper into the music. ___________________________________________________

Prepare to be taken on a series of adventures around the Americas and
the Caribbean - this album fuses improvised jazz with the folkloric
musics of Colombia, Jamaica, Puerto Rico and, of course, Cuba - all
driven by yours truly at the piano.

long time - I decided to take the music and bring it back to roots with
dicings of Cuban trumpet plus the heavy percussion section sound I
love. Special guest Jocelyn Brown appeared on the guajira-R&B
track and Craig David’s musical director, Frank Tontoh co-produced the
album, giving it that extra kick ...

Havana, Cuba was my destination -
and my mission to fuse the heat of
Cuba with my London sound. To this end, three of us travelled to
the island, picked up eight of the best musicians in Havana and went in
to the legendary EGREM studios to lay down latin jazz and salsa
tracks. Getting Mayito Rivera from ‘Los Van Van’ to sing the
title track was a major coup as was the inclusion of Clave y
Guaguancó - one of the top Cuban rumba groups.
